Peaks Definition - What are Peaks?
A peak is the high end of a waveform. Simply put, audio will fluctuate between sounds that are different volumes (similar to peaks and valleys in a landscape). A peak is a high volume moment in any given audio, such as a cymbal that is louder than the other instruments, or even a voice in audio that is louder than anything else. It refers to when you look at a waveform and see these louder volume segments as a peak.
