Frequency Band Definition - What is a Frequency Band?
A frequency band is an area at which different pitched sounds occur at. As an example, if we take the musical instrument known as the bass and plotted it on a frequency band, it would appear on the lower register. If we take a woman screaming and plotted it on a frequency band, it would appear on the upper registers. There are also levels in between the lower and upper frequency bands and they can be used to distinguish between the different musical instruments.
