DMA Region Definition - What is a DMA Region?
DMA stands for direct marketing area. Geographic areas are divided based on content consumption and marketing demographics so that content providers can better tailor the audience of their advertisement. This may be for the sake of product relevance, such as not advertising snow boots in Arizona, or it could be for the sake of geographic relevance, such as advertising a local or regional business. It can also be useful in online advertising when the advertisement may not be relevant to the world-wide audience that audio and online content can generate.
